A Few of My Favorite Things: Dandelion Organic Receiving Blanket
One of the best gifts I’ve received thus far for the new baby is the super soft and super awesome eco-friendly organic receiving blanket from Dandelion. I won’t bore you with the long list of economic, social and environmental reasons support organic cotton, but there are so many. I do love the fact that my baby’s first blanket utilizes chemical free cotton and low impact dye, I kinda care about that stuff. I made the decision to breastfeed, in spite of pain and discomfort, because it is best for the baby and I keep the same things in mind when choosing what to put on the outside of our newborn.
Our daughter was never responsive to swaddling, but baby number two absolutely requires it to take his marathon naps. The thing is, we live in Florida and it gets incredibly warm, plus even with the air conditioner running, we don’t like to have too many heavy fabrics with him in his crib (to prevent SIDS). I love the fact that his organic receiving blanket is made with a a light weight stretch material. Gets him in the swaddle he needs but does not cause him to sweat or catch a chill. It is always hard to find that balance with a newborn.
