I truly appreciate you sharing your perspective as a Haitian American through your heartfelt words and memories.

I visited Haiti last year and had the opportunity to meet with the artisans who create items for the Macy’s Heart of Haiti line. It’s is such a beautiful country with people who are warm and caring despite of the nation’s poverty.

While I know that Macy’s Heart of Haiti and other initiatives that involve creating sustainable income for artisans are in place, I can only hope that others are being empowered through such job training that helps support their families so no mother will ever have to choose between feeding herself and her children in the future.
