Dreaming Small

I find it almost serendipitous that I stumbled upon this video from ExecuMama at a place in my life where I am doing exactly what she is recommending in this video. With a family and resulting myriad of responsibilities to attend to, I find that the best thing I can do to work toward my own personal and professional goals is indeed taking baby steps or as Akilah put it, dreaming small.

Though things are not moving at the break-neck pace that I once required to feel as though I  were becoming the modern “accomplished” woman of my favorite Jane Austen novels. Maturity has awarded me the patience and the ability to experience the pure joy and hope that can be found in working in the now a while making baby steps with a few giant leaps toward the someday.

For me dreaming small is finding peace and joy in the present while patiently and hopefully working toward the future.

I love the way Creator offers us resources in the form of “random people in our circles”! I think it’s beautiful that you are aligned with the reality that a slower pace can be cause to celebrate, and that patience can serve us far more than our perceptions of “progress”.

Know that you’ve inspired me just as much as my video resonated with you. Keep working in the now, sis!!

I’m celebrating your baby steps right from my little corner of the universe.
