I Married a Man Who Would Drive Many Hours Across State Just to Say Hello
My husband is far from perfect but after having an enlightening conversation with the nicest guy from work, I was reminded of somethings. The other day while fixing my work laptop an IT guy was talking about driving a whopping 8 hour round to work on a project. He choose to come home to tuck his kids in and spend time with his wife instead of spending the night in a corporate suite.
The first year we were dating in college, we each went home for the summer (because we were too poor to stay in town). I went back to my old food service job and my husband (then boyfriend) was working retail. One day he drove 4 hours just to see me for 5 minutes then had to get back on the road to go to work.
This was the first but not last time he had done something like this. My husband would rather little sleep and strained funds due to ridiculous gas prices than to miss out on rocking the kids to sleep or spooning in bed with his wife. I married a man who would rather drive many hours across state and country just to say hello than miss out on precious moments with his wife and kids.
